At times football can be a curious and underhand business, and the new ‘Saints summer saga’ that is the future of captain Adam Lallana is starting to leave a bitter taste in the mouths of all involved.

It is difficult to question the ‘loyalty’ of Lallana, after all he has been at the club a long time, and played in the first team for eight seasons, sticking with us through the drop to League One and being instrumental in the rise back to the Premier League. I’m not sure many Saints fans would actually begrudge him the chance to go and play at the highest level, his ability certainly demands it. But there are ways of going about it.

  1. And you honestly think the way your club’s officials go about things are proper and just? Really? We can offer him something you will never be able to and I don’t say that in a disrespectful way. I like Lallana and have seen players behave way worse than him (not sure what he’s done that’s so bad to start with).

  2. The club’s officials had the cheek to decline Liverpool’s offer. Liverpool is a place where anything left around can just be taken and this ‘hubcap’ mentality applies to other club’s players too.
